This August, Tara (check out her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tbiglari/) will join the start line of the Tajik Mountain Traverse, our 6 stage, 165 km race through the Fann Mountains between 15-23 August 2026. Alongside the physical challenge, Tara is using her run to raise funds for the Abdolreza Ansari Scholarship Fund, named after her grandfather and supported through the Persia Educational Foundation.
For Tara, this race carries extra meaning. It will be her first time in a Persian speaking country, and every mountain pass she crosses in the Fanns will be in service of carrying her grandfather’s legacy forward, supporting talented young people from the Persian speaking world who are committed to public service and human rights.
Each scholarship is worth £1,500, and Tara’s goal is to fully fund two of them, a target of £3,000.
